Role Overview
CHB Rwanda is seeking an experienced Finance Manager to oversee financial operations, ensure compliance with donor requirements, and provide strategic financial guidance to support our youth health and empowerment programs. This role will work closely with program teams, leadership, and external partners to ensure resources are managed effectively and transparently, enabling us to maximize our impact in communities across Rwanda.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and monitor all financial transactions, budgets, and cash flow for assigned programs.
- Ensure compliance with national regulations, donor policies, and CHB Rwanda’s internal procedures.
- Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for internal and donor review.
- Lead the preparation of project budgets, forecasts, and variance analyses.
- Oversee grant and contract financial management, ensuring proper allocation of costs.
- Support external and internal audits by maintaining complete, up-to-date documentation.
- Strengthen internal controls and financial processes to improve efficiency and accountability.
- Provide capacity building and training to finance and program staff on budget management and compliance.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field (CPA or ACCA preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in NGO or donor-funded project finance management.
- Strong knowledge of Rwandan tax laws, accounting standards, and compliance requirements.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and advanced MS Excel skills.
- Proven ability to work with multiple donors and manage multi-currency budgets.
- Strong communication skills and commitment to CHB Rwanda’s mission.
Desirable Skills
- Experience managing USAID, UN, or similar large donor-funded projects.
- Familiarity with youth health, education, or empowerment program budgets.
- Skills in financial data analysis for program decision-making.
